Chae first stepped into the spotlight as a result of Johnson & Johnson’s Clean Face Contest in 1995. As a singer and actress, her albums have always been popular. Beginning with the drama The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince in 2007, she has received much positive attention for Emperor of The Sea, Cain and Abel, as well as the movie Hello, Schoolgirl, wooing viewers with her image of pure first love. Her hair style and fashion always cause a stir among woman in their 20s. In 2011, Chae appeared in Queen of Reversals as a cute woman who becomes wicked when things go against  her. On the back of this role she is branching out her performance style.
