The story centers around Moo Young (Kim Ok Bin), the daughter of King Young Ryu, who falls in love with Yeon Choong (Uhm Tae Woong), the son of Yeon Gaesomun and an concubine. However, Moo Young is also debating whether she should have her revenge against Yeon Gaesomun, the man who killed her father.  Yeon Choong, on the other hand is the son of a noble blood father and a servant mother and despite his talent, he seems to can’t rise higher in rank due to this fact. Yeon Choong is later ordered by his father to kill the person he loves, and comes into an inner conflict.
